I realized I need to post some interim photos of the yard. Not much is going to be done until the spring thaw, so this will be it for a while. We have two trees and some shrubs in the front and one perennial bed is filled. The rest will have to wait.

Deering Corn Maze

Today we attended the Deering Corn Maze with the Blacks and their freakishly cute kids.

There was corn, tractors, pumpkins, Kool-Aid, dirty stuffed animals...and much, much more...

Real friends help you get as much free Kool-Aid as you can drink in three minutes. Who cares if your shirt drinks half of it?

Like a Baby

It's been a while since I've posted a really good nap shot of Henry. He was talking to me one minute and the next minute I found him here. He sure looks comfy, doesn't he?

Many of you know that I was not born with any coordination. I have never been able to play sports or even do aerobics. Many times I have a hard time walking and talking...or just walking.

Kate has asked to be in ballet for at least a year. There is a great studio here in town, so we started up for the fall season. She's been attending twice a week since late August and she loves every minute of it. She spends most of her time just staring, either at the other girls, or at herself in the mirror. She is, by far, the worst at telling her right from her left and the teacher is constantly saying, "other leg, Kate." She is not a natural, nor is she hopeless, so I have hopes that she might actually have only inherited partial clumsy genes. At a minimum, I hope she can learn to stop fidgeting all the live-long-day!

Slumber Party

While Phil and Henry were on their boys' camping adventure last night, we decided to have our first ever girls' slumber party. Here are the goods...

The movie was Wives and Daughters - one of my favorites and very appropriate for girls' night. The girls made it through all five hours of Elizabeth Gaskell. In the morning, Kate asked if we could have breakfast (doughnut holes) in bed, as well. Um...yeah! You have to finish off a good slumber party with breakfast in bed. After Kate finished her doughnut holes, she started in on some leftover chips. As she's eating the chips she says, "This is the best day of my life." Then, as we were cleaning up, she says, "what was what we did last night called?" a slumber party.

I've had bedhead envy for quite some time, so I thought I'd use Henry's head to compete with Kirsten.
This particular case of bedhead can be see on all sides...

and just because you never thought you'd see a photo like this on my blog...blurry and all - I love it!

Phil decided to celebrate a traditional Jewish Sabbath yesterday. Henry joined in. I opted for the Christian Sabbath today, but the kids didn't join in. It was a short rest.

Sweet, Sweet Sod

It finally came. The day our lawn drove up on a big truck. Oh happy day.

Underground sprinklers. Double happy day.

The Blur

Shocking to think that I took so few pictures while Sue, Chuck and Sami were visiting. Here's one from the first day. Sami saw we had paint and I wish I could say that was the end of the story.
