Update on Phil's Dad

Thank for all the prayers and concern for us and for Phil’s parents. Phil’s dad had a very bad bacterial infection when we first arrived in New York. After several days on antibiotics, he was sent home from the hospital to continue his course of medication. The doctor said it was too risky to do any heart procedures while he had the infection, so they waited until today to do the heart catheterization. The results are very good; just a small blockage and he’s going to be released today and treated with medication. Our family returned to Germany on the 17th and we’re slowly getting over the jet lag.

Back to the States

We are heading to New York tomorrow to be with Phil's parents. His dad suffered an acute heart attack late Wednesday night and there are some complications in the treatment, so we're going there to be with them and help them. Please pray for us on our trip and for Phil's dad.

New Year's Eve

We had the best New Year's Eve we have ever had. We got together with three other families, ate appetizers and then shot off fireworks. We put the kids to bed around nine (they had one room per three kids all ended up on one queen-sized bed) and then played games until about 11:15 and then shared prayer requests for the year and prayed through the New Year. It was great.

Do you think we have enough fireworks? By the end, the guys were throwing whole packs into the fire...

I was so bummed that I didn't take my tripod. I had to use flash for the pictures and couldn't get any "artsy" ones....oh well.

This little girl, Hannah, is the sweetest child I have ever met. I haven't found one fault with her yet; I may just kidnap her!
